The Spirit Drinks

Our Spirit Drinks have recently been re-branded and re-packaged in handy 200ml bottles with new versions available. They are all bottled on site, without the use of chill-filtration and at an abv of 50.0%.

Clearac

Our fabulous new make spirit which is produced using the same materials and the same method as the rest of our production but it is not matured in oak casks. We are therefore not allowed to call it whisky but must refer to it as a spirit drink. It is naturally colourless and the taste is light and very fruity with hints of pear and green apples it works equally well on its own or with a splash of water.

Blushes

A fabulous drink created by allowing some of the new spirit to mature for only 6 months in oak casks which have previously held red wine from California. The result is a drink which has a glorious rosé hue and on the palate has hints of red summer berries. This drink can be drunk on it’s own, as a long drink with ice and lemonade or cream soda or as the base for a mixer. Create a “Blushing Sour” by substituting it for whisky and taste the difference;

Ingredients: 25ml of “The Spirit Drink that blushes to speak its name”,  25ml of lemon juice, ¾ oz of sugar syrup, Maraschino cherry to garnish.

Method: Pour the Blush, lemon juice, and sugar syrup into a cocktail shaker with ice cubes and shake well. Strain into a chilled sour glass, garnish with the cherry and enjoy.

New Yorker Revisited This twist on a classic cocktail was created by Bramble Bar in Edinburgh and is featured on their exclusive list. You can view it being made on you tube

Fledgling XB

The result of ageing the distilleries normal new make spirit for a period of 12 months in oak barrels which had previously been used for ageing Bourbon. This drink has taken on a pale straw colour and is full of vanilla notes and buttery flavours.

Peated

The distillery’s famed new make spirit but produced from peated malted barley and without any ageing in cask. The result is a drink with a light fruity nose with sweet smoke bursting on the tongue .
