Visiting the Distillery

Although we do not yet have a visitor centre, plans are in place and we hope to have one later this year, we do offer Spirit tours daily at 10.00am however these must be booked in advance. There are now three types of tours and as space is limited we would ask you to phone us first to confirm that we have places available.

The Spirit Tour

The tour starts at the malt intake and covers all of the production areas including milling, mashing, fermentation and distillation. You will then move through our traditional warehouse and see the new spirit maturing including many small octave casks which have been purchased by private individuals, just like yourself. Finally you will go to the boardroom and be treated to a dram of one of our Spirit Drink products. This tour costs £7.50 per person.

Behind the Scenes Tour

Includes all the elements of The Spirit Tour – go behind the scenes with one of our senior managers, where you will gain an insight into how Glenglassaugh was brought back to life and see the parts that are normally off-limits to the general public; including our original malting floor. Nose some of casks in our traditional warehouses and see some of the most spectacular sights in the whisky industry. Included in the tour is the opportunity to have a tutored sampling with a choice of two of our Spirit Drinks, as well as our award winning 26 year old and 30 year old Single Malt Scotch Whiskies. The tour costs £30.00 per person.

The Ultimate Tour

See, hear and smell everything from “Behind The Scenes Tour” and much more. Conducted by one of our senior managers you will see our filling store and receiving vat where you will be taught to accurately record the strength of alcohol, you will look at our cosy bottling facility and have a sneaky peak at our racked warehouses where you will see more than just Glenglassaugh maturing.

At the end of the tour your tutored nosing and tasting will not only include two of our Spirit Drinks and our 26 and 30 year old whiskies but also a sample of our 40 year old Single Malt Scotch Whisky – a rare treat indeed. Finally you have the unique opportunity to help us to decide on one of our exclusive future bottled products by nosing and tasting from a selection of cask samples. For those of you that wish to purchase a bottle of our 40 year old award winning Single Malt Scotch Whisky, the cost of the tour will be refunded. The tour costs £80.00 per person.
